The more I read about Web 2.0 it seems like it has meant more than a handful of different things. A common thread that all of the Web 2.0 definitions include is the ability to make connections. Whether it be social networking, or blogs like this one. Web 2.0 connects us to each other, and to the world. I’m one of the only people I know that still does not have a myspace or facebook, but i recently have started reading multiple news and technology blogs, subscribing with google reader. And there are other things included in Web 2.0 that I’ve used for a long time (ie. gmail, flickr, digg), and might never have known they were part of Web 2.0. Its easy to see how sites like the ones I’ve listed have completely changed the face of the internet.

Scott – Thanks for the insight. Like Thi, you find Web 2.0 a new thread among those with common bonds which I had not really thought of being part of the Web 2.0 gig. I love that defenition of it all. I didn’t realized until doing a bit of Web 2.0 research that flickr was part of the revolution. I’ve recently used flickr and find it not only a great resource but a fantastic way to share images. I’m definately going to check out your links to get a better understanding of the whole thing and thanks!!! Demara

Depending on your topic certian aspects of web 2.0 will be more appropiate to reach that target audience.
Comment by khunley82 October 21, 2008 @ 6:21 pmWeb 2.0 as I understand it is so much more than the social perspective of the web. You can really access and do so much more easily than ever before. While this concept of the web seems to be more accepted by the younger generations because of social networking, it really is opening up so many things to be at our fingertips.

I find it fascinating that google reader even exists and that i didn’t find out about it till this class! It’s still a little tricky but I think that it’s awesome and I can’t wait to find out more weird and cool things web 2.0 has provided for us.
